Summer Glow

Summer Glow

I cannot ever resist the makeup aisle. I’m that person at the hair salon taking pictures of new beauty products I find in the overly used magazines sitting beside the hair dryers so I don’t forget to try them. I just love it all.

I will say, this Summer has been a game changer. I finally found particular products that I love and haven’t strayed from. I know I’m preggo and supposedly we already have glowing skin.. but I definitely got the crap end of the stick on that one. So I locked down some goodies that accomplish that natural glowy Summer look that this little brewing babe decided to not share with me.

These are my fave fave’s. Some drugstore, some Sephora, some I’ve used for years, some I discovered a few months ago!

Urban Decay

I always start with my eye primer and I have been using this one for years. No eye shadow creases ever. Also I prefer the tube you squeeze out vs the wand and for some reason can only normally find it at Nordstrom Rack.

Too Faced

This jewel I found a couple months ago. I don’t use it everyday but when the bags under my eyes are in full effect this is my go to. I’ve tried NARS, It Cosmetics, powders and many other under eye creams, but this one is my favorite..it brightens my eyes and doesn’t go on too thick.

L’Oréal True Match LUMI Liquid Glow Illiuminator

I’ll put a little of this on my finger and rub it on my cheeks, bridge of my nose and middle of my forehead. It can be used as a primer so I focus on those areas since there is a glow factor to it as well.

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer

I get to this part, and am like dammit I forgot to wet my beauty blender! I always use the beauty blender when putting on a base, even if it’s as light as this. The beauty blender is a must have. I love this tinted moisturizer. During the Winter I used their matte version, but Summer, this give the perfect dewy light coverage, while still having some coverage. Some I’ve tried are so light that I should have just put on sunscreen and been on my way but this one is my happy medium.

Honest Beauty Luminizing Powder

I grab my powder brush and use a tiny bit of this to set my makeup. I mainly go over my under eyes, bridge of my nose, middle of my forehead and cheek bones. It enhances that glow and keeps it there.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea

Now I start on my eyes. I know a lot of people do this first, but I need to have half my face done to see what I’m working with. Clearly I have two favorite colors in this palette.. Starfish and Mermaid. I look best in golden and golden brown hues. I will say, I used to buy Urban Decay’s individual shadows in similar colors and will probably go back, but these are really pretty colors. Who wants the leftover colors when I’m done!?

L’Oréal Infallible The Super Slim Eye liner

This eyeliner I have been using for years and love it. Easy to make clean lines and stays put.

L’Oréal Miss Manga Mascara

I have gone between Sephora and drugstore brands with mascara and I have always loved my drugstore mascara’s better! This one I have been using for almost 2 years and it has been my favorite. I’ve tried switching it up in between but this one I continue to go back to.

Benefit Ka-Brow! Cream Gel Brow Color with Brush

This bottle has lasted me over a year now and is still going strong! I will say I am not the best at doing my brows but this seems to do the trick. If you have any brow favorites let me know!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow

I am obsessed with this palette. I discovered this back in May and never thought for a second peach would be my color, at least in lip color it is not, so I figured on my face the same would go. This is the ultimate palette for the perfect glow. Once my eyes are done, I go back to my face and use the bronzer (which by the way, Too Faced bronzer is the best, luckily this just comes with it) right under my cheeks, so that suck in kissy face line, around my forehead, jawline and sides of my nose. Then I use the blush on my cheeks and that pinkish gold illuminator on my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, right above my lips and middle of my forehead. Cha-ching! This is the ultimate recipe for that glow.

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder

This I rarely use in the Summer, but if I start to feel later in the day a little greasy I’ll dab this on. Definitely the best setting powder to have. One trick, this powder will last you forever. This is the one product I’d say buy the travel version because it really is smaller to tote around and will also last you a long time.

NYX Butter Gloss

Last but not least, I add my lip. Buying new lip colors and trying new lip brands is probably my favorite thing ever. I have an abundance of Mac lipsticks which tend to be my go to in the Fall and Winter months, but this past year I keep going back to the NYX brand. They make a killer matte line (soft matte lip cream) and I have strictly used their butter gloss all Summer. It is my absolute favorite. They come in great lasting colors, not sticky! and best part, it’s cheap. Im pretty sure I have this exact color in every bag I own. The Best.  (You can find the best color selection at CVS)

This was quite the walk through but it only takes me about 5 minutes to do my makeup. That’s all the time any of us have before you hear “Mommy I spilt juice in my bed!”

Please share your favorites, like I said I love trying new beauty products and haven’t ventured out in awhile!
